Royal Copenhagen

Royal Copenhagen, Denmark’s oldest design company, has a long and storied history dating back to 1775 when the famed company was founded. Today it ranks amongst the most highly renowned and respected international Danish brand names, best known for its superior quality and impeccable porcelain artistry. It is owned by Royal Scandinavia, one of the world’s leading design companies, featuring internationally renowned products of fine porcelain, glass and silver. Starting in the 1970’s, Royal Copenhagen itself incorporated several other world famous porcelain manufacturers, most notably Kunde & Co, and Bing & Grøndahl (1987). They had already bought Georg Jensen Silversmiths in 1972, and merged with Holmegaard Glassworks in 1985. In the post-WW II years, Swank, a leading fashion manufacturer of leather goods and men’s accessories, diversified its offerings by adding fragrance to its product catalogue. The fragrance line was marketed under the Royal Copenhagen mark. Their namesake fragrance products for men launched in the 1970’s include: Royal Copenhagen cologne in spray, sport cologne, aftershave splash and lotion, a woodsy blend of orange, lemon, jasmine, moss, and amber aromas. Royal Copenhagen Musk in cologne, face balm, soap and aftershave (splash and lotion), a musky blend of moss, sage, clove, nutmeg, basil and musk and Royal Copenhagen Viking eau de toilette spray, a blend of basil, sage, clove, nutmeg and moss scents.
