Indiana-born American design icon, Bill Blass, had fashion in his blood from the get-go. The son of a dressmaker, he is best known for timeless, artful, exquisitely tailored women’s clothing and novel texture and pattern combinations. His inclination for style began as fashion-inspired doodles in his school notebooks and got a jumpstart at age 15, when he began sewing and selling evening gowns for a mere $25 a pop to a New York manufacturer. By age 17 he moved to NYC to officially study fashion. The Blass house manufactures and sells an impressive list of successful perfumes, including Amazing body spray, purse spray, and body cream for women, Amazing Woman, Amazing shower gel for men, and Amazing Aftershave cologne for men, Nude for women, Basic Black for women, and the namesake Bill Blass for Women, which comes in spray scent, shower gel and body lotion incarnations.
